About Saint Andrew's
Home Saint Andrew's was founded in 1971 when the Deltona Corporation donated the land to the Church as part of its new Spring Hill development.  Since then we have grown with the community and now have over 550 members and a weekend service attendance of nearly 300.

Our current sanctuary was dedicated in 1979 and sits among the live oaks with its pyramid vaulted ceiling atop surrounding walls of full-length windows, a freestanding altar and natural woodwork.  A small 19th century pipe organ anchors the west wing and is perfectly sized for Church; and even at its full capacity of 225, the sanctuary feels spacious and provides a clear view of the service from any pew.  Our carillon announces to the community the hour and the half, and at noon and 5:00pm tolls familiar hymns.

Most all of our Saturday and Sunday services are Holy Eucharist Rite II of the Book of Common Prayer.  Our Clergy, Lay Readers, Altar Guild, Acolytes, Choir, Ushers, Greeters, and Oblation Bearers all hold important roles in presenting the Liturgy.

We are a welcoming church and hope you will participate in our worship services and consider making us your Church home.

As part of our mission, we have a variety of other ministerial and service entities.

Daughters of the King - The Order of the Daughters of the King is for women communicants of the Episcopal Church and churches in communion with or part of the Historic Episcopate.  Members undertake a Rule of Life, incorporating the Rule of Prayer and the Rule of Service by reaffirming their promises made at confirmation and pledging to a life-long program of prayer, service, and evangelism dedicated to the spread of Christ’s Kingdom and strengthening the spiritual life of the Parish.

The Daughters of the King meet the 2nd Saturday of the month to pray and review the prayer needs of its members, the congregation, and anyone in need of prayerful intervention.  Everything is held in strict confidence and new members are always welcome to join.

Saint Martha’s Guild -Saint Martha’s Guild was started at Saint Andrew’s in 1977 with the mission to engage in handicrafts that further the Church’s mission and to keep the church, especially the kitchen, spotless.  As part of their outreach, the members make lap robes for hospice and nursing home patients, shawls for shut-ins, and for Saint Andrew’s newest members hats, bibs, & slipper socks.  This small group of dedicated women meets every Wednesday at noon.

Christian Samaritan Ministry - A new parish ministry aimed at service to the community, the Church, and furthering spiritual growth.  It’s mission:  Serve Christ by providing a beneficial impact to members of Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church and the community.  They meet on the first and third Tuesdays of each month.

Friends of the Witt Library - The Ken and Rita Witt Library was established to enhance and nurture the faith of our membership, to encourage positive growth and development of our children and to support the work of all groups within our church.  The collection now includes more than 3,000 books, maps, and audio-visuals.  A special effort is made to provide supplementary materials correlated with Sunday school and Bible study teachings, and our collection provides for enjoyment of current interests and for enriching users’ world views.  All this is directed by The Friends of the Library supporting our professional librarian.

Karen’ Kit & Kaboodle - our parish thrift shop  - is located in Rubino Hall, the building which originally served as both Church and Parish hall.  It is operated entirely by a group of over forty volunteers.  The shop makes a large contribution to the operating budget of Saint Andrew’s and also participates in its outreach program through cash gifts to such programs as the YMCA after-school program, hurricane relief, etc.  Clothing and other items are made available whenever there is a need.

The Parish Gift Shop - Opened in 1997, in a glass-surrounded room, the new Gift Shop’s bright, lighted display area offers many religious items for sale.   Bibles, Prayer Books, greeting cards and other religious memorabilia are available.  This Krysher Hall hub is often filled to capacity with shopping parishioners.
